When we found this car it had been in storage for twenty five years. It had been purchased from a local Chevy dealer and showed 32,000 miles when we bought it.

We began a frame off restoration. The only rust on the car was the rear roll pan.

Included in the restoration were over 40 modifications. These were done in a way to not only maintain its original looks but also enhance its ride and performance. Some of the changes include four-wheel disc brakes, coil over front suspension and a modified Ram Jet electronic fuel injected engine with a 700R overdrive transmission spinning a 9” rear end with lowered and relocated leaf springs. Interior refinements include original seats wrapped in red and white ultra leather, original steering wheel adapted to a tilt column and a hidden stereo system.

We entered the car in Classic Chevy International Winter Nationals were it received a First Place and a Platinum Certificate with a score of 993. At the NSRA South East Nationals the 56 has been chosen twice for one of the Top Three Tri Five Awards.

The 56 has won at many other shows but now we just enjoy cruising.
